Holly Houston Ortiz

Celebrating Holly: A True Archangel of San Miguel de Allende

We are proud to introduce you to Holly, our newest Archangel!

Holly's journey from San Francisco to San Miguel de Allende in 2003 is a remarkable testament to her strength, dedication, and passion for community, nature, and quality of life for her family.

When Holly and her family first arrived in San Miguel, they sought something new, a change from their previous life. Just a year later, they purchased raw land and embarked on the incredible journey of building what is now Rancho Sol Dorado, a working ranch and low density luxury community.

Holly´s ranch is a haven of country living, complete with horses, hiking trails, and serene views that invite visitors to connect with nature, friends, and themselves.

But Holly's story doesn’t end there. Through the process of building their ranch, she became deeply involved in real estate, eventually being a part of the opening team of a Sotheby's office in San Miguel (12 years ago!). Now, she will be a part of the opening team of Engel and Völkers as of September 1st, 2024.

Despite her success in the luxury real estate world, Holly remains grounded in her love for animals and the community. One of her greatest passions is rescuing dogs and helping them find forever homes, bringing happiness to both the animals and the families who adopt them.

Holly and her family along with Querencia share their ranch, and the surrounding 171 acres offer not just a retreat for guests but also a space for preservation and community engagement. She loves to support local vendors through initiatives like Bazar Sol, and her efforts have created a ripple effect throughout the community.

Holly is not just a businesswoman, she’s a country girl at heart with a sophisticated touch. Her ranch lifestyle embodies a perfect blend of hard work and elegance. Even in the face of challenges, such as her battle with Lyme disease, Holly remains resilient, continuing to contribute to her community and nurture the land she calls home.

Her story is one of transformation, dedication, and love for both the land and the people around her. Holly's journey from San Francisco to the heart of Mexico, from a ranch girl to a real estate developer, is an inspiration to all of us at VSA and beyond.

We are honored to recognize Holly as an Archangel, shining a light on her extraordinary contributions to San Miguel de Allende and celebrating the incredible woman she is.
