Sara Eyestone

Meet Sara, our first Archangel! Sara inspires us on so many levels – as a woman, a mother, a wife, a friend, an artist, a writer, a rabid VSA fan, and a Santa Fe historian!
Sara Eyestone has painted all her life. She is known for her elegant floral oil paintings, as well as portraits of her collectors and their animals, always with unusual combinations of glorious colors. Sara was born Artistic and had a privileged childhood in Los Alamos, New Mexico, as the daughter of nuclear physicist Robert Shreffler and his wife, Laura. She lived in Los Alamos in the 1940’s and ‘50’s when it was still the Atomic City. Seeking independence, Sara eloped at nineteen. In her twenties she had four children, supported her family with her paintbrush, and was discovered by the art publishing industry. The global exposure from reproductions of her originals brought significant opportunities her way with galleries, magazines, television appearances, and museum exhibitions. She then fell in love with David Molin, and they have made a spectacular life together for almost fifty years.
I first met Sara when my family (and VSA!) relocated to Santa Fe 4 years ago. She walked into our Santa Fe flagship store – and we fell in love. Sara with VSA, me with this amazing, beautiful, powerful woman! At 80 years young, Sara embodies womanly grace and confidence. She is warm, smart, wickedly funny, and gives back to the community every day. Sara is the art curator of the historic La Posada de Santa Fe Resort & Spa. Every Friday, Sara leads a fascinating discussion on the history of Santa Fe and the surrounding areas in New Mexico, providing a captivating journey for the audience with her talented storytelling. Sara keeps the narrative of Santa Fe, its talented artists, and its unique evolution alive for visitors, locals, and future generations!
Santa Fe is the sister city to San Miguel de Allende, the home of our amazing VSA creative team and factory. Both cities have so much history and rich culture that are embodied in each piece from Virgins Saints & Angels. Sara provides inspiration as a muse and a steward of our community.
Thank you, Sara, for your commitment to keeping the important story of Santa Fe alive with your personal and infectious fireside chats!
