Jody Feagan

Jody Feagan first met Finn when Jody walked around the corner from her house in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, knocked on Finn’s garage studio door, and bought her first VSA necklace. It was the beginning of a lovely friendship and Jody’s collection of many beautiful pieces of VSA jewelry.
Jody moved to San Miguel in 2001 where she raised her three children, Conor, Kirby and Wyatt.
“I wanted my children to learn another language and experience another culture. Moving to Mexico was the best decision I ever made. My children grew up not only bilingual but gained an appreciation for diverse customs, traditions, and perspectives.”
While in Mexico, Jody began producing writing workshops with authors Beverly Donofrio and Kaylie Jones and in 2005 founded the San Miguel Writers Conference and Literary Festival, which is still in existence today, and has grown into one of the most well-known and well-loved literary festivals in the world.
Jody Feagan is also the co-founder of 100 Women Who Care in both Santa Fe, New Mexico and San Miguel de Allende, where the two combined have raised nearly $1 million dollars for local nonprofits.
With her latest project, Jody is launching the nonprofit 1 Million Women Who Care, whose mission is to unite and empower women across the country who share similar values and common interests, to amplify the power of giving, and make a positive impact.
“Our first event, in Santa Fe just before Indian Market, was a fundraiser to bring awareness to Missing & Murdered Indigenous Women and Relatives in New Mexico and for the documentary film She Cried That Day, a story about the brave women on the frontlines of this devastating crisis. VSA was one of the sponsors for this very important issue in New Mexico, for which we are very grateful.”
At 61 years young, Jody splits her time between Santa Fe (in the summers) and New Orleans (in the winters) where she spends time with her granddaughter Pepper, who is also growing up bilingual, and a grandson, who is on the way (ETA: October 23, 2024).
